Your roof protects your largest investment!

Enjoy the benefits of a professional roof cleaning

Of all the benefits that are available in getting your roof cleaned, probably the biggest benefit is an increase in the overall longevity of the roof. Moss may seem harmless, but it can trap moisture, leading to water retention and subsequent damage to your roof’s surface. Moss can also lift asphalt shingles/clay tiles and allow water to go where it’s not supposed to causing damage to materials under the roof. By investing in a professional roof cleaner, you’re effectively safeguarding your roof against these potential threats.

Removing moss from your roof is a crucial step in ensuring the longevity and structural integrity of your roofing system. Whether you have an asphalt, tile, or metal roof, all roof types will have a longer life if kept clean and moss-free. As moss grows, it can lift shingles or tiles and allow moisture to get in, and cause damage to materials under the roof. With a metal roof, moss will hold moisture like a sponge and cause the paint under the moss to fail early.

Getting your roof cleaned is a very easy way to add to your home’s curb appeal without breaking the bank. You could also try to clean it yourself but the DIY route can be costly and dangerous. By getting a professional roof cleaner with the proper knowledge, skills, and equipment, you can ensure the roof cleaning job is successful.

Softwash Hero uses a special method to clean your roof without causing damage to the integrity of the roof. We start with a gentle sweep of large moss and then apply our special biodegradable/eco-friendly solution that not only eliminates existing moss but also keeps it from coming back. We never use wire brushes or pressure washers as this can cause more harm than good.

Roof cleaning is not something you want to try and tackle by yourself. Without the right safety equipment and training, it can become a very dangerous endeavor. Softwash Hero has invested in the proper safety equipment and training to get the job done safely.

METAL ROOF CLEANING

The safer alternative

Metal roofs are very tough and durable but there still are some tricks to cleaning. We use low pressure method called soft washing to clean as high pressure can blow the rubber seals that are attached to the metal fasteners, which of course would cause leaking problems. If metal roofs are not kept clean, they can begin to rust and the paint will break down which will shorten roof life.

What our customer say!

"Nick was thorough and efficient, our house, sidewalks, and driveway are sparkling. They did a great job cleaning up before leaving, and couldn’t be happier with the results. We had spruce tree residue on our chimney siding from a recent tree removal that is now gone. Did not see any paint chipping even though it’s been 15 years since house was last painted. Well worth the price."

"Nick was very professional from the first call, pricing the job using Google Earth, which was a first for me. He was punctual and has all the kit to clean your gutters and fascias from the ground. He brought what were heavily weathered gutters and fascias back to a very good standard. I’d highly recommend him to anyone locally and won’t hesitate to use them again."

Yes, washing any type of roof with high pressure can cause lots of damage. Pressure washing a roof can void the roof warranty. Our Softwash roof treatment uses very low pressure and will not damage your roof or void your roof warranty. The Softwash method is the only method recommended by The American Roof Manufacturers Association (ARMA).

We will use a soft bristle broom to gently brush the bigger clumps of moss off the roof.

We never use aggressive cleaning methods such as metal brushes or pressure washing as this will cause damage to your roof. We blow debris off the roof and will bag it up and take it to a waste transfer facility.

Next, we spray our professional roof cleaning solution. After a couple of days, you will see all the moss has turned white. The rain and wind are all that’s needed to remove the rest of the remaining dead moss and after a couple short months, your roof will be completely free of moss.

It will depend on what services and the size of the roof. Give us a call and we would be happy to put a free and hassle-free quote together for you.

After treatment, you will notice some dead white moss on the roof. This is normal and part of the process. We allow the treatment to do the work instead of using harmful aggressive techniques such as pressure washing or using a wire brush as these techniques will cause damage to your roof. In about 3 to 6 months, the dead white moss will have fallen off naturally and you will be left with a moss-free roof.
